How Do I cook what I have stored without Electricity or Natural Gas?
What happens if I don’t have power or natural gas? Do I get the privilege of munching on whole kernels of wheat from my storage or maybe some rock hard rice?
Most of us follow the council to store long term food and are obedient. you can live on munching whole grain rice and you can sprout it (a topic for another day). But without electricity to grind it and gas or electricity to cook it how does it become bread? What if there was an earthquake and it is unsafe to get to your cooking utinsils, bread pans, pots and pans. What are you going to do?
I don’t have all the answers to these questions but I do know the person who does. Have you inquired of the Lord for you and your household? I have for mine and he has given me clear direction on what I need to do. You also can receive the same answers for you and your family. It might be different than what he wants me to do for my household. It is your right and responsibility to find out what the answer is for your household.
My focus is how to cook what you have stored.

Tips on Charcoal. I picked up 2 – 15 lb bags of Kingsford charcoal earlier this year at walmart for 7.95 for the twin pack. Watch for sales like this. I have seen this same type of deal from Home Depot, Lowes, and other places as well. Charcoal does not like to get wet or be exposed to humid conditions. I do not store my long term charcoal in the original bags, I have drilled holes in the bottom of an old galvanized garbage can and put a large 50 gallon leaf bag inside and dumped the charcoal inside this bag inside the garbage can, then I seal the bag the best I could and put the lid on the garbage can. If water gets in the can it will go to the bottom and drain out the holes and never touch my charcoal. I have used charcoal stored like this that is over 10 years old and they burned just like new.
You get my drift! Now get planning how you are going to cook your food that you have stored in a no power or fuel situation!
